Turhan H. Demiray received the Dipl. Ing. (M.S.) degree in telecommunications from the Technical University of Vienna, Vienna, Austria, in December 2003 and the Ph.D. degree from ETH Zürich, Zürich, Switzerland, at the Power Systems Group in January 2008.
Currently, he is the Director of the Research Center for Energy Networks (Forschungsstelle Energienetze - FEN) at ETH Zürich. In his role, he is responsible for the acquisition/lead/execution of industrial and academic research projects in the field of energy systems.
Prior to his role at FEN, he worked for NEPLAN AG as a senior engineer and project leader responsible for algorithm development for power system analysis and studies. From 1993 until 2000 he was with the Transmission and Distribution Department at ABB Vienna AG as a software developer and project engineer.
His research interests are modeling, simulation, control, and optimization of energy systems in particular electrical power systems.
