The Center
The Research Centre for Energy Networks of ETH Zurich (Forschungsstelle Energienetze - FEN) was established in June 2011 to contribute to addressing the energy challenges of today and the future towards a more sustainable energy system with a special focus on energy networks by means of independent, credible, applied and interdisciplinary research.
Key activities:
Applied Research & Industrial Projects
- Interdisciplinary studies and scientific work funded by SGEN members and by third parties
- Collaboration in scientific projects with national and international partners
- Preparation of assessment reports
- Advising public administrations, industry and associations
- Providing services to the industry in key competence areas with in-house developed
tools and method - Bringing new methodologies and tools in energy research closer to the industry
Dissemination and Communication
- Publication and presentation of scientific papers/contributions
- Communication of results from quantitative studies and assessments to the general
public - Organisation of seminars and conferences
- Co-supervision of semester, master theses and dissertations
