Additional information

Philippe Buchecker holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSc ETH 2018, MSc ETH 2020) from ETH Zurich, where he started building an expertise in thermodynamics, internal combustion engines, renewable energy sources and multi-energy systems.

During his time at Ganser CRS AG, he was involved in the design, simulation and testing of common rail systems and injectors for heavy duty off-road diesel engines.

Since August 2020, he has been conducting research at ETH Zürich as a scientific assistant, initially working on the modelling and validation of energy technology models at the laboratory for aerothermochemistry and combustion systems (LAV) before moving to the research centre for energy networks (FEN). There, he co-developed ReSIM, a modular simulation framework focused on multi-energy systems. Since the development of ReSIM, Philippe has overseen the maintenance of the tool as well as its usage in several research projects. Besides, he is also working on both research and consulting projects in the field of energy system modelling and provides pre- and post-processing codes for several in-house tools at FEN.
