FLEXCON awarded by Future Mobility Research Program
FEN is excited to announce that FLEXCON, Potential of demand flexibility to manage future congestion management in the SBB grid, in collaboration with RRE, was awarded by the Future Mobility Research Program as part of ETH Mobility Initiative.
FLEXCON is a collaboration between FEN, RRE, and SBB, aiming to (i) explore how demand-side flexibility can be leveraged to manage future grid congestion issues in the Swiss railway power system, and (ii) promote innovative flexibility solutions such as mobile battery-equipped trains, which can absorb or supply energy based on real-time grid needs.
This detailed analysis aims to establish the basis for proposing effective and appropriate mitigation actions.
