  • The goal of the project is to develop joint scenarios and to provide insights on selected questions relevant to EIP
  • The first objective is to define, develop, and discuss electricity system scenarios that are of general interest to EIP. These scenarios aim to provide insights into the impact of various drivers of the Swiss energy system transition.
  • The second objective is to assess the drivers of wholesale electricity market prices, with a particular focus on hourly and seasonal volatility, and the consequential impact on revenues of power plant operators
  • In addition to developing joint scenarios, EIP would like to gain further insights on key questions relevant to portfolio management, asset management, origination, and transactions
  • To build a collaboration framework, and organically grow the relationship, ETH and EIP have decided to initially start working together on a selected and concrete set of topics and questions, aiming to deliver market insights, to promote knowledge and awareness for the energy transition in Switzerland and in Europe, and to further enhance the supporting modeling platform
  • To answer the relevant questions, we use the Nexus-e modeling platform
  • Develop and agree upon scenarios relevant to EIP
  • Assess impact on Swiss energy transition using Nexus-e
  • Assess impact on prices and revenues using FlexEco
